Alien Insect Doodles

Some late night critter doodles. My thought was to design a set of creatures that live in four different environments: Earth, Water, Air, and Space. Been reading a book by Wayne Barlowe called 'Barlowes Guide to Extraterrestrials', which has been inspiring.

The Molebug is a palm-sized heavily armored insect that digs complex tunnels.

The Blimpfly is an ant-like insect that uses lighter than air gas to float and rarely touches ground.

The Yellowtailed Sea Snag is a vibrant oceanic hunter that uses a series of long grabbing arms to ensnare its prey.

And finally, the Solar Drifter evolved on a chunk of it's old homeworld, adapting to a zero G environment where it snacks on microscopic nutrients and drifts around space using organic thrusters and a sail that catches solar radiation.
